Release 8 (May 2025)

Additions
  • The 172 songs from the repertoire of Gisèle GALLAIS, Vous jeunes gens qui désirez entendre… published by Dastum and the Presses Universitaires de Rennes in 2014, have been indexed. Thanks to Yves-Roger LE BORGNE who contributed to this analysis.
    The addition of these songs has allowed the identification of 63 new song types (from B-02862 to B-02925). Among these new song types, about forty concern short songs.
  • The 491 songs from the work of Abel SOREAU, Vieilles chansons du pays nantais, edited by Hugo ARIBART and Hervé DRÉAN, published by Dastum 44, have been indexed. The corresponding manuscripts have been taken into account.
    The addition of these songs has allowed the identification of 141 new song types (from B-02927 to B-03068). Among these new song types, 35 concern short songs and 22 are literary songs.
  • The 139 songs from volume 1 of Hervé DRÉAN's work, Instants de mémoire - Tradition orale populaire autour de La Roche-Bernard en Haute-Bretagne, published in 2010, have been indexed.
    The addition of these songs has allowed the identification of 34 new song-types (from B-03070 to B-03104). Among these new song-types, 29 concern short songs.
In total, 802 new songs have been indexed and 238 song-types have been added.

New summaries have been added : 84 new summaries. Thanks to Laurence Berthou-Bécam.
  • 45 summaries concern songs from the Fortoul survey not listed by Coirault (11 Christmas carols, 24 literary songs, and 10 traditional songs).
  • 39 summaries concern songs from Droüart not listed by Coirault.
The website on oral tradition in French lists 3083 song-types and 10836 occurrences of songs, which is 1306 occurrences more than in the previous version.
